06:47 pm - Sharlo: December 1989 - July 2009, Rest in peace
Sharlo was the cat I have had the longest... I saw her born. She was part of the litter that my childhood best friend's cat had. She nestled into my arm pit regularly under the covers, climbed up onto my canopy bed post, and slept in the canopy when I was away at school. She greeted me every day from school, college and work. She met all of my boyfriends, didn't necessary approve of them all of course. ;) She was the cat that the other cats didn't want to mess with, even when she had to be an indoor cat. Dogs respected her and knew to stay away from those dangerous claws of doom. She was such a big part of my life... I haven't been able to share this because it is like losing a familiar, a piece of your heart, when your pet dies. She lost almost half of her body weight in the last year, she had to have surgery to remove a lump from her shoulder back in the spring, but she never recovered... on the night of Wednesday, July 29th she started not being able to breathe properly and had little energy to move... I went into work the next day but we made an appointment for 4 p.m. to bring her to the vets... I got home from work earlier in the day and she was declining rapidly... she was still not breathing right, not moving... she looked at me with pain in her eyes. I called the vet to beg for an earlier appointment but they couldn't give me one... I brought her to my room and we cuddled one last time, her breathing got slightly better while sleeping but I could tell she still wasn't comfortable... Time came for us to leave and bring her to the vet. I wrapped her up in a towel and climbed into the back of the car with her in my arms while my parents drove... not halfway through the ride she had a heart attack in my arms and passed away...

Rest in peace Sharlo. You will always be in my heart.

08:40 pm - aiennanakiir - Whoots! :)
I think that going to that first PortCon was the best decision I have made this last decade. Due to my attending I got to meet all of you up North, made some beautiful friendships including yours. You are my "evil" twin... or am I yours? I am not sure anymore. ;) I enjoy hanging out with you and just chatting, playing Rock Band, watching you draw... You are a beautiful and talented woman. I am very lucky to have you as a friend. :)

And on that note:

I don't think that the word cool describes what you represent to me... amazing is more like it. I admire you for the risk that you took moving out west. When I met you at KRF I admired your confidence level and internal strength. Now "hearing" from you from afar just helps me exemplify that point of view. You are an amazing woman and I am honored to know you. :)

03:14 am - I need a second to write this down…
I just got back from Maine. I drove up today to celebrate two dear friends’ graduations. The day was filled with laughter, good food, beautiful scenery, games and a warm spark-full fire. The majority of us stayed late into the evening, but I decided to drive home anyway – comfort of my own bed, guilty about feeding the cats, what have you. I left Saco, ME at midnight with a cherry coke in hand and cds lined up. I knew it was going to be 2 ½ hour drive home but I was mentally prepared to do it…

Nothing too eventful occurred until south of Boston. I noticed that there was more traffic than usual, taking note of the time it was somewhere around 1:45 a.m., I figured the clubs must have been getting out. I did notice some more “extreme” drivers aka speeders/weavers and internally hoped that no one around me was still buzzed from the club. I took my usual lane (second most lane from the right) and drove down the highway that I had spent many hours previously driving down throughout the years. After the last exit on the southeast expressway before the split, I looked in my rear-view mirror and noticed a car (Ford Taurus?) coming from the breakdown lane swerving into the right lane directly behind me extremely close to the car that was almost beside me. I glanced ahead to make sure I had room to maneuver/check for brake lights/etc. and when I looked back the swerving car had gone air born! All four tires were not touching the ground and the car was coming back down directly on its front bumper into my lane. It landed and spun around several times, hitting the middle guardrail, there was smoke, other cars swerved to avoid, etc. The impact that the car made and the extreme spinning that it did… I felt like I was watching a movie from my rear-view mirror. I can barely remember the sounds that I heard. In fact I can barely remember exactly what happened after that, all I know is that I continued to drive cautiously ahead and called 911. After I hung up (by then I was on 24) I came to the realization that if I was driving 1 second slower that car may have landed on top of mine. Then the what-ifs started to race through my head, the should-I-have-done-this-instead, etc. I am home safely now honestly thanks to pure luck and chance… I am saddened to think what may have happened to the driver and passengers…

So yeah… just needed to write those thoughts down, thanks for letting me blabber on… again… *sighs* I am going to go upstairs and snuggle with the freshly fed cats…

01:20 pm - My Weekend In Review
I know I don't usually post these type of summaries, but I feel the need to. Just want to document my random weekend...

Friday: Earned day off from school (along with Monday, Wednesday through Friday this week). Spent the day running errands, getting a pedicure and manicure with Jen/Kris/Michelle, the wedding rehearsal and dinner at Nocera's. Mike was nice enough to meet me for dinner (he was my wedding escort) and helped me drop off my car at the hotel for the next night so we wouldn't have to worry about it. The rehearsal/ceremony was Lutheran/Catholic so to quote bridal party members it wasn't a stuffy rehearsal. I was also feeling a bit tired after staying up until 3 a.m. every night that week so I was goofy and silly. The dinner went well, Jen gave us all a monogrammed light blue lunch tote bags and self-made celtic themed jewelry for us to wear for the wedding. They were beautiful! I gave her the surprise bridal shower quilt that I worked on all week with my mom. She seemed to like it (yay!) and the ladies who came over to check it out seemed to approve as well. (*phew!*) Spent the night at Jen and Jim's place along with Mike. Took the hair washing shower to prep for the morning. I slept on her waterbed - which I forgot she had until I sat onto it. *laughs* She gave me another special gift which is gorgeous - a sapphire journey pendent that deepens in color as the gems progress. Amazing!

Saturday - Woke up at 3:45 a.m. to take another shower and get the bride to be ready and awake for the 4:30 a.m. pick up. Got to the salon, met the girls there, got our hair done and some got make up done (the make up lady took a loooong time). We ended up running late so we booked it back to the Aites' house to get ready. The flowers, one bridesmaid, videographer and photographers were already there, so we started scrambling. We got her dressed, then we got dressed. Then it was a blur of pictures, limo driving, and then the wedding (10 a.m.). I remember walking down the aisle and from the bride's side I heard: Beautiful and whoot whoot!, the groom's side: oh my... she has a tattoo! Mierez, my 6 inch tiger tattoo was 100% in view and I was proud if not a little bit self conscious. The ceremony was wonderful, I was/am so happy for Jim and Jen. There was some readings, Briendel sang, unity candle, vows, etc. Not too long of a ceremony, in my opinion just right. :) More pictures after - during which one of Jen's students drove by and went crazy! :D In fact the church was on Main Street in Brockton and the passerby/drivers were quite supportive/funny! Then once the pictures were complete we headed to the reception. More brief pictures, tied up the train, got introduced (the best man was such a nice partner, very easy to get along with!), did my toast (short, sweet but sentimental), best man's toast and then dancing. The food was yummy, although I was still not able to keep my stomach calm (I was sick to my stomach since Thursday - I was stressing in place of Jen stressing - she was as cool as a cucumber!). Tried to visit with folks, spent time chasing around Jen to help her change/remove items. There was a moment that she left the bridal suite and I just couldn't physically get myself up, I was soooo tired! Mike was in there with me and across the way, he also was pretty pooped. As we attempted to head back in Jen needed me for changing into her "going away" dress. We headed back in, they got introduced again, danced to some songs, then the final song "Kiss Me I'm Irish" by Gaelic Storm came on and we all had one last dance. Then folks said good bye and we all headed over to the hotel. I snuck in Godiva chocolates and water into the bridal suite before heading to the lounge for dinner. Mike was kind enough to keep me company, the set up of the bar was weird so we all couldn't sit 100% together. There was a weird painful incident with a friend (which I am sure wasn't on purpose but bugged me so much I had a dream about it Sunday night). I said good bye to Mike and headed up to the room... got into bed around 9, texted folks for a bit (a friend's wife was having contractions), and fell asleep around 11.

Sunday - Woke up at 4:30 a.m. to bring the bride and groom to the airport. Was successful at that and then headed back to the hotel for more sleep. Checked out at noon, went to Jen and Jim's house to drop off their over night bags and pick up Mike's forgotten jacket - found that the spare key didn't work so I had to drag Mrs. Aites over (who had to take care of the dog anyway). Headed home, got home around 2 p.m. dropped off my luggage, and headed out to get some food (since I hadn't eaten since the dinner the previous night) and run an errand for my parents. Got into a car accident. Yes, I am fine. Nope, my car isn't. First of all thank heavens it didn't happen earlier in the week or even the day before, second of all no one was seriously hurt (bumps and bruises). But yeah my car is a "total loss" (just found out about an hour ago). So rental car for 5 days and then I get to figure something out...

So all in all, it was a busy weekend... I am very thankful to Jen and so happy for them. I am appreciative of Mike for being my supportive rock behind me. I am sad for my car.

Oh and I am posting this on LJ and /not/ Facebook and My Space because Mrs. Aites and I talked about it and we are not letting Jen know about the accident until /after/ she gets back from her honeymoon. So please don't say anything over there! Thank you! :)

As most of you know I enjoy driving up to Portland, ME to visit with friends. Several of them (Kaichee, Ashani, Arlac, Adrienne and soon to be Teloriel) have been in a dance troupe whom I have regularly seen and they are in a survey for the area. If you have a moment, please click on the link and vote for Vivid Motion!

11:18 pm - Random Update: My Clinical Rotation! :D
For those that have been reading my randomness, I am currently going to school for Radiologic Technology and I have been very excited to start my rotation. It is official I will be doing my rotation at Jordan Hospital for a total of 11 1/2 weeks and be at Brigham and Women's Hospital for a total of 22 weeks. Of course there will be class semesters in there as well breaking up those weeks but I am very excited that I got my top choice! :D (We got to provide our top 4 choices to the Clinical Supervisor of the school program.) Starting in December I will be at Jordan Hospital. :D I hope to see no one there *waggles finger* but I wouldn't mind meeting folks for dinner after a work day. :D

11:35 pm - Ah the Rumor Mill...
Over the weekend it came to my attention that as of 2 months ago I wasn’t working at KRF and in particular for the Apprentice Program. Apparently I disapproved of “what went down” in relation to the Program and I was upset by it. This was all according to the lovely rumor mill that is out there. *sighs*

Would you like the truth? Okay, I am not upset in relation to the Apprentice Program and the changes. Honestly the Apprentice Program has gone through and will continue to go through changes, this is just another evolution. :)

You want more truth? Okay, as of this past Wednesday I am not working at KRF this season. I called Kitsy and told her my decision, then immediately called Richard Webber. As time progressed to the weekend I told Jen S. and Ryan Roy. At the parties this past weekend I started telling folks who asked or whom I thought might want to know. This decision was completely based upon me and my own thoughts. One is that I need to focus on school this upcoming season since I will be entering full time in the Fall. Second is that after 12 straight seasons of all that is KRF, this chicka needs a break. Do I love KRF and all that is/was/will be there any less? Hells no. Am I planning on visiting this season? Hells yes. Am I nervous backs will be turned upon me when I visit? Hells yes, but honestly if those backs turn – it proves to me even more who my friends truly are from there. :)

So in conclusion: Rumor Mills are just that, rumors. If you really want to know, ask. You maybe surprised at what you learn. :)
My Whoots go to KRF, it will always be in my heart.
Thanks for reading!

Nope.

4) Do you meditate?

Try to talk and be with as many loved ones as possible.

7) Have you ever milked a cow?
Nope, not yet.

12:51 am - Update - My Dad
Hello Out There!

I wanted to post a quick update for y'all if I may. My dad is scheduled to come /home/ this Friday! YAY! No wheelchair, just a walker and/or cane. We are all pretty psyched although we know that dad still has a lot of physical work/healing to do. So this weekend will be a lot of learning for us. :)

And since I have your attention other updates in the world o' Lilly: Moved to full time at the Hospice to cover an intermittent leave/vacations/and the already existing leave, on the wait list for the Chemistry class starting next week *meep*, packing/cleaning/moving this past week, and closing on the house on Friday.

12:15 am - My Dad
I just wanted to post a quick entry about my dad to quench some of the crazy rumors out there. It's kindof personal so feel free to not read on if you don't want to, I won't know. *winks*

My dad was in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, April 30th. His Harley motorcycle was hit on the right hand side by a SUV, causing him to fall, slide 15 feet still on the bike, then separately from the bike slide an additional 5 feet. For those that have ever experienced something like that happening to a loved one, you can imagine what at least the first 24 hours are like. For those that are lucky enough to say that you can’t imagine what it is like, I hope you never do. I can honestly say that I don’t think I could have gotten through that time without the support and love of Charles, Mike and Jen A. I can never say how much I appreciate them being by me during that time because I was crumbling inside and they were there to pick up the pieces.

I won’t go into details about what his injuries are/were, who’s fault it was, the trials and tribulations afterwards; but I will say that he is now at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital and will be there for at least another week or so. Then maybe another transfer, but eventually he will be home in some form. I am just extremely happy from the bottom of my heart that I got to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and my dad’s 60th Birthday with him this past Sunday.

Thank you to all of our friends and family that have been sending their well wishes and healing vibes for my father. I know it is helping him heal.
*big hugs to all*

05:00 am - Ganked from Katey
I could have posted my 2 page expression of something that has been on my mind for a bit that I am dealing with but eh, instead you get random quizness!

I Am A: Lawful Good Human Paladin/Ranger (3rd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-15

Dexterity-15

Constitution-16

Intelligence-17

Wisdom-15

Charisma-17

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

11:05 pm - Snow and the warm fuzzies...
Considering what is going on in my life, I had to take a moment and note here my warm fuzzy today. On my way to get my lunch today while crossing the street I looked down and saw big fluffy pieces of snow in my hair. I couldn't help but smile. :) I don't hate the snow, if anything it makes me feel peaceful; I love how quiet it is when the snow first falls and covers the ground. The sight of that snow in my hair made me look forward to that first peaceful moment... :) Anywho, that is my ramble, thanks for reading! ;)
